SCAD & STANZA Senior Dancers Shine at the Grahamstown 50th National Arts Festival
Our journey to the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown (Makhanda) has been nothing short of remarkable. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this year’s festival has provided a platform for our senior dancers to showcase their hard work and dedication. We’re thrilled to share that after just one performance, our team has been honoured with the prestigious Standard Bank Ovation Award!
Months of rehearsals and late-night sessions have culminated in this exhilarating experience. The vibrant arts scene of Grahamstown has offered the perfect setting for our performances, allowing us to bring our passion for dance to a broader audience.
Festival Highlights
We have danced all over at the festival including the iconic Village Green, while under the watchful eye of team mascot Larry the Llama! Our dancers have delivered captivating performances, bringing our story to life.
Team bonding has been another key aspect of our journey. Sharing breakfasts, laughing, dancing, and making memories together has strengthened our camaraderie. These experiences have deepened our friendships and will stay with us for life.
